Description

2013 CARTE BLANCHE NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON, CALIFORNIA. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petite Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc.

Only 500 cases produced! Fruit for this spectacular Cabernet came from the famed Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper and To Kalon vineyards in Oakville and Blossom Creek in Calistoga. It was aged for 18 months in 100% French oak from selected coopers Darnajou & Taransaud.

92 points Wine Spectator: "Marked by a creamy, seductive oak introduction, with anise, tobacco leaf and vibrant red and dark berry flavors, this red boasts tannins that are ever present yet woven into the fabric, showing a nice integration of wood and fruit. Ends with a long, lingering aftertaste. Drink now through 2030." (Web-2016)

“Few vintners grew up drinking classified-growth Bordeaux with dinner," writes Wine Spectator, "but for Nicholas Allen it was a family tradition…Allen spent a decade in the real estate industry before turning to wine, launching his California label, Carte Blanche, in 2007… He leases the properties he sources, which gives him more flexibility when putting together the final blends.” (2013)
